Connect Recruiting Agency maintains a transparent and reliable billing cycle. Tutors submit their completed teaching hours weekly. Upon auditing and verification, remittances are credited directly to your designated bank account or payment processor on time every single Monday.
Our compensation structure is tiered based on candidate credentials, native-speaking status, certifications (TEFL/TESOL/CELTA), and performance in the demo class. Hourly rates start at $3 and scale up to $14 for highly qualified native English educators. Final rates are confirmed during your onboarding consultation with Safy Badr.
Tutors deliver structured 1:1 lessons (one teacher to one student) ensuring focused student engagement and rapid progress. The student base consists primarily of children and teenagers located in East Asia (mostly Chinese learners), with a minor percentage of adult students.
No, you are not required to design curricula. Connect's academic partners provide fully prepared, interactive teaching slide decks and curriculum resources for all student levels. This ensures that you can focus entirely on class delivery and student engagement without unpaid preparation time.
Most tutoring sessions are conducted using ClassIn, a premier interactive classroom software featuring digital blackboards, multi-user tools, and gamified student rewards. VooV Meeting is used as a backup videoconferencing interface for specific classes. Comprehensive support and training are provided to new tutors.
Schedules are managed via a flexible booking and pre-booking system, allowing you to open slots that fit your availability. Tutors commit to maintaining at least 15 open hours per week within our peak demand windows: Weekdays between 5:00 PM – 10:00 PM Beijing Time, and Weekends between 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Beijing Time.
Solutions for common camera, microphone, tool, and latency queries in ClassIn and VooV Meeting.
If ClassIn or VooV cannot detect your media devices: 1) Close all other video applications (Zoom, Skype, Teams) that might be locking your camera. 2) Check your Operating System privacy settings (Windows: Settings > Privacy > Camera & Microphone, ensuring "Allow desktop apps to access your camera" is set to ON). 3) Inside ClassIn or VooV settings, click "Device Test" and manually cycle through available driver options from the dropdowns.
ClassIn provides direct translation for student text messages—simply right-click the message in chat and click "Translate". For interactive blackboard tasks, use the vertical floating toolbar on the right. You can select the Brush, Text (T), Laser Pointer, and Eraser. Tutors can also select the Selector Tool to drag, resize, or clean up annotations. Monitors will guide you through these digital blackboard tools in detail during tech checks.
In VooV Meeting, click the green "Share Screen" button in the bottom taskbar, select the specific application or screen window, and check "Optimize for video clip" if you are playing media. In ClassIn, click the "Cloud Resources" icon (folder) on the right toolbox dock, select your uploaded slides or PDF materials, and drag them onto the blackboard. Connect-provided curriculum PDFs can also be pre-loaded by your academic monitors.
Spiking latency (above 200ms) will delay audio. If this happens: 1) Click the network status/signal icon on the top right bar of ClassIn and choose an alternative node line (e.g. choose Auto Select or test different lines). 2) Connect via a wired ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi. 3) Close background updates, gaming clients, or streaming tabs. 4) If the platform disconnects entirely, restart ClassIn; our servers will automatically re-bind you to the active classroom.
